So much chocolate… Here it is:
In a mixing bowl, mix together 1/2 cup softened butter and 2/3 cup packed brown sugar. Add 2 eggs and 1 cup of melted semisweet chocolate chips. Mix well. Add 1 1/2 cup apple sauce and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, combine 2 1/2 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
Add this dry mixture to the creamy mixture, stir well. Then stir in 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, so that it’s like a chocolate chip cookie dough mixture.
Spoon this batter into 4 greased 5 1/2 in x 3 in x 2 in loaf pans. Put these loaf pans in the oven and bake them at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Take them out afterward and let them cool for 10 minutes to let them settle.
While the loaves are baking, combine in a bowl 1/2 cup melted semisweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon melted butter. Stir into this mixture 3 tablespoons of half and half cream. Then stir in 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix this entire mixture together; it is your glaze for the top of the loaves. Drizzle onto the loaves after they’ve had ten minutes to settle. Spread afterward, it’ll still be plenty thick.
And that’s the chocolate bread! It’s super good, and very sweet. Hope you enjoy.
